House debt default

 So if you rang up a huge credit card bill and decided that, on reflection, you won't pay it because you realize your spending was out of control, do you think the credit card company would say "OK, we'll eat this, hope your spending weight-loss program works out?"


LOL!

Of course not. But that's the default that the GOP expects the Senate and the President to embrace.

It looks like Biden learned from the Obama administration. We pay our bills. Spending discipline can be negotiated in the next budget. Payment of past obligations from House budgets is non-negotiable.
