Where is the surge in COVID-19 deaths?
We have yet to see a surge in COVID-19 deaths to follow from the surge in confirmed cases. Some attribute this to the disease moving to a younger demographic, or to better medical care. In a country as large and diverse as the US, aggregating numbers in a time series, particularly when there is a 2-3 week delay between diagnosis and death, can give a misleading picture.
