The good viruses
All God's critters got viruses. Even bacteria. Back in the 1940s, there was extensive research to use viruses that kill bacteria (called bacteriophages, or phages) as therapy. Of course, this was also the time that antibiotics were discovered and so the phage research was marginalized.
Fast forward to the 21st century, when antibiotic overuse has resulted in multidrug resistant bacteria. Fortunately, research scientists in the former Soviet state of Georgia still have retained the expertise to exploit phage therapy. I have a feeling we're going to see more of this.
