How science actually works
As a research scientist for most of my adult life, I can assure you that any scientist who discovered incontrovertible evidence that global warming isn't happening or that the earth is only a few thousand years old or that all life on earth isn't related by descent would be awarded the Nobel Prize and would be financially secure for the rest of their lives.
Science isn't a religion or a cult. Scientists are always competing with one another and searching for data that will transform their field. Overturning the consensus is the dream of every serious research scientist.
